Legend says that king dhanya manikya, who ruled tripura in the late 15th century, had a dream in which Mata Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari Appeared And Instructed him to set up the “Matabari” temple on a hill near udaipur. the king was naive and was hesitant as there was a lord vishnu temple already there.
Maa Sri Lalitha TripuraSundari Appeared Again In a second dream And Blessed the king with the realization that “All Forms Are Of The Divine Mother And There Should Be No Hesitation”. Blessed with this realization, the king built a temple, As Per Instruction Of The Dream, for the worship Of Mata Sri Lalitha TripuraSundari, at around 1501 CE. Today, the “Matabari” Temple is visited by millions of devotees worldwide to seek Blessings Of The Divine Mother Mata Sri Lalitha TripuraSundari.
