The holy Devi Mahatmya is recited during sacred ceremonies, events or regularly in temples. However, there are simpler daily practices for devotees, such as the seven-day cycle of recitation:
day 1: chapter 1;
day 2: chapters 2 and 3;
day 3: chapter 4;
day 4: chapters 5 to 8;
day 5: chapters 9 and 10;
day 6: chapter 11; and
day 7: chapters 12 and 13.

Another more concise way involves reciting the “Shri Maa Durga saptasloki stotra”, or “The Praise Of The Divine Mother in hymn of seven verses”. It is a selection of seven powerful mantras for the worship Of The Divine Mother from the holy text of The Devi Mahatmya. In the introduction to the “Shri Maa Durga saptasloki stotra”, lord shiva praises The Divine Mother and seeks Guidance on achieving desired outcomes.

Through The Devi Mahatmya, The Divine Mother Graciously Provides the opportunity to seek Her Blessings. Devotees can avail themselves of this Blessed opportunity through the daily practice of sincere and devoted recitation.
